Dolphin Blue is a collection of Dolphin software modules – in a browser; rolled into one bundle to serve as the one-stop-shop option for servicing the needs of orthodontic practices. These modules include:

  • Dolphin Blue Practice – an orthodontic practice management system
  • Dolphin Blue Imaging – a patient imaging system for capturing, storing, and presenting patient images, it is an FDA certified medical device
  • Dolphin Aquarium – a large library of patient education videos

What technology is behind Dolphin Blue?

Dolphin Blue is a single page application built with the latest HTML 5.0 and WebAssembly technologies designed for browser-based applications. Dolphin Blue is built on top of an enterprise infrastructure within the reliable Microsoft Cloud.

Where is data stored?

Dolphin Blue data is stored in the Microsoft Cloud in enterprise-level data centers. This includes all patient data, images and documents. Data backups are automatic and secure.

Is Dolphin Blue Secure?

Dolphin Blue has been built from the ground up to be fully secure by following best design practices and utilizing the latest security technologies for cloud-based applications. All patient data is encrypted within the database as well as in transit between the customer and the data center. When a customer logs into Dolphin Blue, they are using a secure connection called TLS (Transport Layer Security). Dolphin Blue is also regularly tested by 3rd party security partners.

What kind of Internet bandwidth does Blue need to perform at its best?

For best performance, we recommend 50Mbps Download/5Mbps Upload or higher. To successfully operate Blue in an office environment, we also recommend an “emergency” Internet source, such as a personal wifi or a data-enabled mobile phone, in case your main primary Internet access becomes unavailable.
